But video is the most powerful of them all. If content marketing mediums were Hobbits, video would be Frodo. Here are 3 reasons why.
1. It’s easy to understand
If making tons of sales was easy, we wouldn’t need to generate all this dang content to help us do it in the first place. The things that stand between you and the sale need to be thoroughly explained to the customer — things like your unique value, all the ways they’ll benefit from doing business with you, and much more. Video is a great way to do this because it’s easier for customers to swallow than, say, a dense report or white paper.
2. It’s fun
The worst result of any marketing campaign is not getting noticed. Blending in. Being invisible. What you really want is for people to associate your business with something fun, even (heck, especially) if you’re in a boring industry. People have enough stress in their lives, so they naturally gravitate toward fun things; creating a cool video is an amazing way to attract them with more consistency and less effort.
3. It gets them to consume your other content
Almost like magic, video makes all your other content work better. There are 2 reasons for this:
A. It’s easier for a new prospect to dip her toe into your 2-minute video, rather than wade waist deep into, say, a 30-minute podcast, or a 15-page consumer awareness guide.
B. Your video’s call to action can be to download your report, white paper, a case study, or whatever else, using content to move people further down the funnel…and closer to a sale.
